My husband and I submitted an offer on a short sale home in the city of West Covina, Ca on July, 2008. The current home owner has two loans on the property. In August, 2008, the 1st bank accepted our offer. The 2nd bank still has not replied. We really like this house, but are tired of waiting. Our agent continuously tries to contact the listing agent, and the agent who is a family member to the current home owners ignores our agents calls. The last trustee sale date was for the 3rd of February, 2009...and after not hearing from the listing agent, our agent checked the system and noticed that the trustee sale had been extended. We asked the sellers and the listing agent months before if they were trying to work on a loan modification and they both insisted that they were not. Now our agent is tired of trying to contact the agent since he has not been successful in reaching him. Is there any other option for this. We really like the house, and have been on a open escrow with maybe 3 to 4 trustee extensions. Can anyone tell us how to find out the status. Can my agent contact anyone else.
Oh by the way, he also tried to contact the owner, but the owner point blank told our agent that she herself is fed up and does not care what happens to the property. Our agent also offered the listing agent to help with the short sale in contacting the banks, but the agent refused.
