In the old days to teach students how to write, the teacher would have students write out the text of an entire novel in longhand. So you would copy a Lincoln speech and write it out word for word to learn how to write. Hunter Thompson typed out the Great Gatsby on his typewriter... Does anyone know what this practice is called?
