What do you have to upgrade more, consoles or PC?

Bear in mind how often consoles are released, when you actually *need* to upgrade your PC to play new games, etc.
 
consoles you have upgrade more so you can stay on x-box live or the new x-box 360 upgrade that came out last year
 
I'd go with PC. 3 years are the average time that a PC needs to be changed (according to accounting standards) if i'm not mistaken. new consoles are released every... 6-7 years?
