What do you think about the Subaru Legacy (Liberty in Australia)?

In my family we've had 5 of them. They've been great. Sure there were some manufacturing flaws in some year models but overall - great. Minor flaws included air leak noise on driver's side window; inner door handles had glitches opening; tire rims would get slow air leaks at welds

I am considering buying one and im wondering if anyone has had any problems with them.

I think they are a great car. What year are you going to get? the earlier ones without variable valve timing are harder on fuel. The late 80s 2.5 DOHC have a head sealing problem. 16V SOHC is fine. The brand new ones are way better for economy.
