What do you think of an alleged "tea party" candidate whining about his government

health care taking so long? Apparently he's going to be 28 days without coverage because his congressional health coverage doesn't kick in until January (then he gets it for the rest of his life....).

So Mr. Genius decided to ask if he could purchase some from the government for the time being (in essence: a public option....lol). What's interesting about THAT request is that he calls this new healthcare bill (which I personally don't like) "socialized medicine".

Is this guy really this clueless? I mean he sounds like a total moron...

Republican Andy Harris, an anesthesiologist who defeated freshman Democrat Frank Kratovil on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, reacted incredulously when informed that federal law mandated that his government-subsidized health care policy would take effect on Feb. 1 – 28 days after his Jan. 3rd swearing-in.

“He stood up and asked the two ladies who were answering questions why it had to take so long, what he would do without 28 days of health care,” said a congressional staffer who saw the exchange. The benefits session, held behind closed doors, drew about 250 freshman members, staffers and family members to the Capitol Visitors Center auditorium late Monday morning,”.

“Harris then asked if he could purchase insurance from the government to cover the gap,” added the aide, who was struck by the similarity to Harris’s request and the public option he denounced as a gateway to socialized medicine.
primo........."I say who cares"

This means the man has no real convictions and just spouted off popular rhetoric to get elected. THAT is a problem.
dumb and dumber........"Stop reading Politico. It rotting your brain."

Feel free to read the very same story somewhere else.
reagan.........."I think it proves that government plans suck and he has to look out for his own well being."

lol.........He wants the government plan IMMEDIATELY. Congress people have the best coverage of anybody in the country.
ugly truth.........."I say it's par for the course for the textbook fringe party crank."

But there are some principled people who actually don't think more government is the solution. THIS guy is not one of them. It's just unfortunate "tea party" rhetoric and all it's campaign season vagueness allowed sh*ts like this to get elected when he obviously stands for nothing.
terran.............""Nix said Harris, who is the father of five, wasn’t being hypocritical – he was just pointing out the inefficiency of government-run health care."

That's nice spin..........actually it's not even good spin. What else do you except his spokeswoman to say? "Yes, my boss is a little bit slow"
anna p........."I hope we all remind him of this when he wants to repeal the Affordable Care Act."

Actually, the Affordable Care Act (eerily similar to equally nice sounding name yet terrible pieces of legislation like the Patriot Act) is garbage. I just thought it was funny that this guy made such a request.

Really? You can't tell the difference between a government employee and a normal citizen? This is no different than a Walmart employee complaining about a gap in coverage when changing jobs.

I am not a government employee, they are my employees. Putting a gun in my face and forcing health care on me is a violation of my rights. This isn't rocket science.

Well, he didn't run on the idea that he would do without health care - just people not smart enough to get elected to congress.

I think he is really completely unaware of the irony of his request and umbrage.

Yes, just one of many "entertaining" moments with our new freshman class in the House. He must have a pre-existing condition and is hoping that the excellent Congressional/federal plan will kick in immediately. I hope we all remind him of this when he wants to repeal the Affordable Care Act.

I Don't, "think of an alleged "tea party" candidate"
the question is, "why do you?"

I think people like him are the problem with this country,

he's crying about 28 days with out insurance pff when I started a new job in 1997 I had to wait 3 months.

I think asking if he could have a government option instead of nothing at all during the gap is smart on his part. I don't find it hypocritical, I think it proves that government plans suck and he has to look out for his own well being.

I personally love how you left out the best part of the story.

"Nix said Harris, who is the father of five, wasn’t being hypocritical – he was just pointing out the inefficiency of government-run health care."

Furthermore, in the article there were no quotes from Harris himself, just what people were saying about him.

If you plan for people to take you seriously, then you need to include everything, not just the parts that benefit your side.

Don't care for whiners, Now he is the talk of the Nation and my parties Fragile come back and Resurrection has a strike against it as a bozo has blabbed
