What do you think of Jeep Wranglers?

I'm thinking about getting one, to go to work and school, and also to do some fun off roading and adventuring with. I think they're so cool looking! But the gas mileage is horrible. But insurance rates are low. Ugh...should I get one? (I'm 19 btw.) Also what are some other cool, not too expensive cars?
