I always thought that being part of the system was a choice. Boy, was I wrong.

Probably the first signs of indoctrination came in childhood, when mama and papa said things were "wrong". When I called other kids obscene names, they would correct me. When I peed on the window, they would correct me. They were "great" parents. But boy, was I brainwashed. And even today, with this in mind, I still question whether or not my morals are independent.

But there was one time when it became apparent that the system is essentially... survival. It was that one time, far back in high school, cliche. But it's true. When I finally got out of that hell, I was ready to tear down the walls of injustice, break the barriers of social norms, and reform the way things are. Because I realize that the system is cr*p.

I was part of that cr*p.
