(Evelyn's point of view....)
David hugged me deeply. "I'm so sorry Evelyn."
"I understand," I muttered. Tears streaming down my face.
"I've got to do this quickly before they come," he said releasing me from the hug. "This will protect you."
"I know, I know," I said wiping my face. "But why can't you just turn me?"
"Because your my best friend. And, I just can't do that," he said running his hands through his hair.
"Fine," I mumbled.
"Are you ready," he said grinning, but inside, I know he was hurting.
"Yeah," I said," So I absolutely won't remember a single thing about you?"
"Yes, my pictures will dissapear, everything about us will dissapear," he said.
"Ok, I'll miss you," I said sadly looking down.
"Don't worry, you'll see me again," he muttered," Maybe."
I smiled at him, but my heart was breaking into a million little pieces. "I'll see you!" I hugged him one last time.
(David's point of view now...)
She collasped on the concrete. If I could cry, I would. I left her and hid behind the bush. About a minute later, she woke up with a confused look on her face. She shrugged and went inside her house.
"I'll miss you," I whispered behind the bush.
I quickly ran home. Everyone was waiting for me in the car. They all looked so sad.
"I'm so sorry David," Natalie said rubbing my back.
"It's ok, let's just go," I muttered. I closed my eyes and we drove off. I'll miss you Evelyn! We headed on to our new home...
~16 years later~
"Are you sure about this David," Justin asked.
"I'm absolutely sure," I muttered," So, what did you find out about her again?"
"She's 32 years old. She's a medical diagnostician. She's married to a guy named James Addison. She has no children and, she lives at the same home, since we left her."
"Ok, we're going to be neighbors right?"
"Yes, we bought the house next to hers," Natalie muttered coming out of the Food Store. "I bought the ingredients we needed to have dinner with them."
"Good," I said. I was going to see her again, after 16 years. She'd never recognize me. I still look 16 for goodness sakes!
"Ok, let's go on ahead," Hailey said starting the car.
We arrived at the house during noon. We finished unpacking in about 10 minutes. Natalie and Hailey started to cook some food. We all knew they would be coming.
At around 5 o'clock, they arrived. They rang the doorbell and David answered it. They came in and I waited in the dining room.
"Hello," Evelyn said to Justin. She handed him some cake. "Welcome to the neighborhood!" They shook hands.
Evelyn, she looked so much older now. But she still has that red hair that shined in the sun and those beautiful green eyes.
"Hello," I said standing up from the couch. "My name's Justin." We shookd hands.
"You look familiar," she muttered. "Have we met before?"
I had the urge to scream out, your my best friend! How can you not remember me?! But instead, I said," No, we're new here. We've never met before, but it's a great pleasure to meet you."
Her husband came in. He had brown hair and blue eyes. "I'm sorry I'm late," he said. "Hello, I'm James Addison."
We were all introduced. I always pictured that her husband would be me. I guess, I thought wrong. I regretted not turning her, but I can see that it was worth it. She was happy.
After dinner, they left and I watched them. They held their hands as they walked to their house. they laughed and smiled before they came in. Then. they dissapeared into the house.
"I'm so sorry David," Hailey said rubbing my shoulders.
"It's ok "mom". She's happy and that's all I could ever ask for," I muttered. I sighed. I miss you Hailey. And I wish I turned you. And I wish I had told you I loved you before you could forget me.
~THE END~
Tell me what you think. Is it too sad? Is it not sad at all? Because I'm trying to make it sad. Please tell me what I could imrpove. Thanks a million!
