What do you think of this plot ?

2 best friends from high school in england, 1 english and 1 german. They grew up together and were so close. They go their separate ways and occasionly keep in touch, german guy moves back to germany. WW2 breaks out and they both decide to be spies for thrie own country. They meet up in germany in 1944. When they meet up they both want info to help the war . Eventually they decide to help each other. The english guy is very confident he is much cleverer and can use the info much better so gives him some info that he thinks is not too important. They exchange info where they think no one can see them.

English guy gets home and someone saw them talking and he gets arrested.

I have 2 endings in mind

1. While he was inprisonedgerman guy breaks in and takes his place telling him to run and english man watches his best friend die sobbing silently.

2. They make a grand escape together.

Which is your favourite ending or do you have any other ideas? Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

well to be blunt i know this sounds horrid but how about having the english guy die and then his family find out about the german guy? just a suggestion but if not then the first one cos it seems too good to be true if they both escape. Its a great plot though! Keep writing!
