What does it mean to dream of a sword?

I had a dream where it was perfectly clear. I went to a store for no reason and bought 2 of everything. My bf seemed as though he was hiding something from me so on the walk home, he said he was gonna go see his ex gf to take care of some things. I really dislike his ex because she's always trying to mentally hurt him. So I told him to take the bag of things I had bought and I showed him this tiny sword thing (not a dagger or knife) and I told him to take it with him and he walked away behind me and I walked ahead but on my way home I got lost and nobody could find me.. Any ideas what it could mean?
