What does it mean when a cd cover notes "all selections are new stereo recordings?"?
does it mean the songs are new releases from the original recordings remastered into stereo from the original tracks? or does it mean the recording is a whole different version of the song, maybe redone by the original artist?
i bought a cd from wal-marts yesterday titled '70s classic hits' for five bucks. i thought it was a great deal buying some hard to find tracks. but when i got home i noticed the fine print on the back read "all selections are new stereo recordings, except selections marked (*) are live recordings.' only one track had an asterisk so i could live with that if the other eleven tracks are originals. i won't mind if they're remastered as long as they're the original version. but i don't want new versions.
i haven't opened the package yet so i can still return it or exchange it. what do you think?
