What does it mean when a guy asks but says it was a joke?

I was talking to one of my best guy friends and he asked me out. I said no and he said yeah i was kidding it was just a joke. Since then everytime i go on facebook he ALWAYS says hi to me but he doesnt do that to my other friends.What does he think about me?
 
He probably said it was a joke because you rejected him and he was feeling embarrassed
 
HE LIKES YOU! But you turned him down and he was sad and embarrassed so he said it was a joke. If I were you I would ask him out again. And he will say yes. Just say last time you were caught off guard. Hope I helped :)
 
lol yep, as guys thats pretty much our only way to salvage any pride we can once we go out on a limb and get rejected. im positive he likes you! why not give him a shot?
 
it sounds like he does want to go out with you, but since you said no to him, he wants to pretend like it was a joke. happened to me before :)

He likes you. He said it was a joke because he felt embaressed after you rejected him. Unless you have feelings for him, don't lead him on because he will be hurt. I wish you the best!
