what does it mean when my dog whines alot and has a hunched back?

my dog has been whimpering alot and he has a hunch back every time he moves he whimpers we took him to the vet and the didn't and anything wrong. the poked him everywhere.

You need to see another vet. This happen to my GSD almost two years ago and my vet did x-rays. Found out he had arthritis in the ctr. of his back. Got to the point where he would constantly pace and really had a terribly hard time trying to lay down or get up. Pain pills only helped so long. This may not be your dogs problem but there IS something wrong and a new vet is definitely in order. Your dog is in pain and you need to find out why.

go to another vet
if they dont find anything wrong, go to another vet and keep going to vets until they tell you whats wrong

I would definitely get a second opinion because the dog could have maybe a spinal injury or a back injury and maybe the first vet didn't see

either abdominal pain or back pain- cause of the pain could be any number of problems.

Get another vet.. he needs a better diagnosis than "poked everywhere"
