What does it take to be captain of a basketball team?

I want to be the leader and captain of my team, what traits do I need to have and what do I gotta do?

most important is ...LEADERSHIP!!
by that it means you have to earn their respect
and by that it means you need to show them your dedication and work ethic...be the hardest playing guy in your team. and show composure when everything is going wrong you still can make decision in a heartbeat. and NEVER be complaisant

being captain is like being a coach on the floor. you call your teammates when its time for practice. you work harder than everyone else. you have to have lots of experience and know what you're talking about. and NEVER let your teammates down
