I plan on getting an iPod touch and I've been looking at some of their apps. When looking at some of these apps, some of them have "lite" in the app name and others don't.
Is there something special with apps that have "lite" in their name?
It means that the application is missing a number of features the full app has. Usually the lite app is free or cheap, and the full app is pay (or pay for more).
"Lite" means that the app is a limited version of the full app. For example, for a game app, the "lite" version may have fewer levels or other features. The benefit of lite apps is that they are usually free, while the full versions are not.
