Since I was very young I was always interested in foreign nations, peoples, languages, and cultures. I loved human geography, history, and social studies when I was in grade school, specifically that concentrated on Europe or East Asia. Now I'm in college and working toward a double major in English and philosophy because I really love those two subjects, but I'm not really sure if that's what I want to do. I don't know what I want to go to graduate school for, and I have no idea what job I want to have after I leave school, except that I would love to be able to travel and use my writing and critical analyzing skills. Working for the UN, the EU, or a foreign embassy would be ideal, as far as "real" jobs are concerned, and I'm not sure if I really want to have a job like that, either.
The problem is, my school doesn't really offer any programs in human geography or anything that comes very close to the type of thing I want to study. The closest majors I could think of that best fit my interests are history, politics, or a foreign language, but I really don't want to major in any of those.
Is it possible to major in English and philosophy and then go to grad school for human geography or cultural studies?
