What does the D mean when texting off my Blackberry Pearl?

I have a Blackberry Pearl.. usualy when i recieve a text, tehres a little envelope icon, and when I send a text there's a checkmark.. but sometimes theres a little D above the checkmark and i have no idea what it means..

does any one know???
