What gadget reads the New (colored) bar-codes on everything, nowadays?

What is the new device (gadget) that reads the new color-coded bar-codes on many places nowadays?
Is it (maybe) an iphone, ireader (or whatever name of Electronic gadget) available over-the-counter?

I have yet to step into the WIRELESS WORLD since I am already paying for my cable-wired internet service.
Thanks for suggestions and ideas.

Any device that can access an App Store for the most part. There are several Apps that read these bar codes. The types I believe you're referring to are called DataMatrix, Aztec, and MaxiCode.
