i'm planning to hike up mt. washington with a few friends and ski down it, but i'm a little unsure of what specifically i should bring.

i obviously understand that i need to pack warmly and things like that, but i'm more curious about the gear; for example, should i rent crampons and an ice axe or can i get by with spiked snowshoes. i've never climbed mt. washington before so i'm not entirely sure what the conditions are generally like.
also, what safety gear should i have on hand; a space blanket, a knife, some rope, things like that?
i really appreciate the help!

If you have never done that before you should call there and find out what you need. A lot of places have gear for people to rent. They are called outfitters. Most resorts have equipment too...
