What happens if you use 10 mil laminating pouches in a 5 mil laminating machine?

I'm looking for a laminating machine that can accomodate 10 mil thickness, but they all seem fairly expensive. So I was wondering, would it be catastrophic to use a 5 mil machine? Or would it not come out at all? Thanks.

Hello Katherine,
A lamination machine heats up to a specific temperature.

A five mm thickness requires less heat to create a bond. Using a ten mm plastic will bond, but not as well. I would suggest passing the film through twice as an experiment.

There are some machines that allow a variety of thickness's. But the machine must be allowed to fully heat up before use.

respectfully

Gordon
