i want to buy some things off the net but they're too big to fit in the normal post. so i think they would come by courier/UPS or something.
what happens if i'm not at home to collect it?
i asked on the website - they said they might try a neighbour (i don't want them to do that). they also said they would try up to 3 times - but what if i miss them everytime??
will they ring me in advance?
ok thanks

They will usually try your neighbours(If you don't want them to do this leave a note in your window stating do not leave parcels with neighbours). They should leave a call card saying they will call back the next day to re-deliver if they can't find a suitable place to leave the parcel. You will find if they can't get anybody in after the 3rd attempt they will return it to the depot leaving you a calling card with the depots number on and you will be able to collect it from there, you will probably need to take some kind of ID to the depot to collect the parcel. They don't tend to ring in advance unless it is a big parcel Eg: TV,Computer etc.

in my experience they would leave it with a neighbour and leave a card in your mail box to inform you where the delivery has been left.
