what has a better quality RMVB or DivX?

Normally, a DivX video has better quality.
But, because you want to create a DivX throughout a conversion, the quality will remain the same as the RMVB.

Just remember this rule:
You can convert a high quality file to a low quality file, but converting a low quality into a high quality is rather useless because the quality will still remain the same.

Example: If you take a picture with your cellphone, it will be terrible compared to a picture from a camera. You CAN make the picture from the camera 'worse', but you can't make cellphone picture equal to a camera picture...
 
Because rmvb files are smaller than divX, but if i convert an rmvb to divX would the quality stay the same?
