...about the origin of our universe? Please give quotes like the Bible's: 'In the the beginning was the word...' quote i.e. I don't want to hear your interpretations, I want to hear it from the horse's mouth: the holy book (do Pagans have one too?)

If you only one faith's concept that will be fine thanks.
 
"In the beginning was the word" is not a quote from Genesis, but from the first chapter of John, who was the "favorite" apostle.

Judaism is where the OT is from, so that Genesis story is from that culture, as is Islam.

Paganism has all kinds of crazier stories than that.

Native American stories usually include a turtle, as do many oriental creation stories.
