What if we all had premonitions of our own death(s)?

If you've seen any of the "Final Destination" movies then you have a better chance of knowing what Im getting at here.

So, if every human soul were gifted with premonitions to see disasters and freak accidents before they occurred, meaning that we'd be able to bypass death since we'd have prior knowledge of our death plan/design, so what do you predict as a possible outcome that would spawn from this?, do you think that the overall lifespan of people would drastically increase?

Allright, so now lets say that the outcome of these events would result in us suffering an *ultimate* death sooner or later, this *ultimate* death would be sort of like a combination or fusion of all the deadly situations that we've avoided throughout our lifetime, except, this one death would be far more painful than the ones we've avoided, and it wouldn't be quick and painless, taking this into consideration , do you think people would just ignore the premonitions and just allow death to take them in one of the incidents they've foreseen?

Also, do you believe that "Only new life can defeat death"?- Final Destination 2

By the way, this question isn't about religion, or if it is then I didn't plan for it to be, this question is strictly in terms of spirituality, so if you answer don't include anything about "God" or anything pertaining to religion in your answer.

If people could avoid their possible deaths but by doing so slowly went closer to a horrific unavoidable death, I think most would still avoid the earlier deaths. It's our instinct to avoid pain and injury and death, and people might justify it as "all the good they can do" in the extra time given (or is it taken?) but when that time finally came, they'd really really hate it, even though they have no choice but to suffer horribly then die.

I've seen enough sci-fi and read enough about what tortures are possible so I'd be a bit more cautious, and probably would go for a sorta-early death as opposed to a nasty agonizing death later.

As for anything the Final Destination series might say on the subject, it's all jibberish and just meant to amuse an audience for profit, nothing more.

Death, however sucky it might be, is something we all get to experience. Kinda like a pregnant woman. She may not *want* to have a baby, but the act is already in motion. In time, something is coming out of her one way or another. It's that unavoidable surety of death that still scares me. I don't want to think about death, but one day it will happen wether I'm prepared for it or not.

It would be nice to be able to predict other people's deaths...the only problem with that is people would think your some kinda freak. I think people's lifespan would increase, but you'd be constantly looking out for other people's lives that you might forget about your own....
