What is a crossover cable which is used to connect 2 computers. How it looks?
Need it so I can recognize it in a computer store so they don't sell me something else
Thanks for any practical answer!

A crossover cable can only be used to connect two computers together.

It looks like the looks like the normal network cable. The only difference is inside cable. The way the wires are connected inside is different.

Take one end of cable. You will see that thin wire of different colors are connected to the pins of the RJ-45 socket. Identify the color of the first wire (at pin 1) . Now take the other end of the cable. The color you saw should be on the third position on this end.

You can't tell a crossover cable by looking at it. They look just like regular Ethernet cables. The cable will be labeled as a crossover, since it can't be used for anything else.
