what is a good target / hunting rifle?

iam new to hunting and target shooting and am looking for a very accurate rifle that is good to hunt deer.and what kind of scope should i get?not looking to spend too much,thankyou
 
Target and Hunting? --- The rifle that fits the bill is one chambered in .308..... The .308 cartridge is commonly used by competition target shooters as well as hunters..... Its cheap in bulk so that's why its the best choice for your target shooting criteria.....

Other hunting ammo is usually in the $20 a box on up in price... .308 for target shooting can be had as little as .45 cents each in bulk......

Very accurate and cheap generally don't go hand in hand..... Consider a Remington 700 SPS.... About $550.....

If that's to rich for your budget then surely consider the Mossberg 100 ATR chambered in .308..... This one was about $325 on sale around the holidays in my area...

I would go with a 243. They are highly accurate. Good for deer and other game as well. I would get the best scope you can offord. It's a good investment.
