...school curriculum? I teach high school in Santa Cruz, where I went to college, and really love it. I teach English lit and recently got certified to teach Chemistry. I have been able to teach Marx and "Das Kapital" in the classroom, but not have the students read that work in its entirety. What I want to know is this, what would be the best way to introduce Karl Marx and his economic policies to 9th graders, as well as elementary-school students? I have never formally taught a course on Marxism, but I was talking about "The Communist Manifesto" in my junior-year chemistry class, and really found it hard to drive his points across. Are there are any abridged versions of Marx's work that would appeal to teenagers where they could learn his ideals without getting bored? I was thinking about power-point demonstrations, graphic novels, guest speakers, etc. What would you do?
