What is a legit way to make money from home using the internet?

Hey guys ive seen so many scams and im not sure what to think. Is there really a way to work from home using the internet, even if it was 6 dollars an hour or pretty low pay but enough for a student to live on. Im sick of my job and im looking for something to do on the internet because i love typing and i know alot about the internet. Please dont post scams. Can you make enough to pay rent just from taking online surveys?
