What is an interesting/out of the ordinary research paper topic?

I have to do a ten page research paper and i have no idea what to write about. I want to do something interesting that no one has done before. i want to do something different than what people usually do for research papers. please if you have any ideas let me know.

Former President Clinton told an interviewer about summer jobs that teenagers were given in NYC; they were asked to help make buildings more energy-efficient by painting roofs white (to reflect sun and lower the temperature inside), add insulation, etc. Research easy changes that can be made to city buildings to reduce energy costs by conservation, and how owners could hire untrained teenagers to help save thousands of dollars in energy costs.
Or: President Obama wants to make school days longer. This idea has been written about before. Research the pros and cons of this idea: the costs to school districts of longer school days, and the effects of more hours to learn. Find out how many months each year students are in class in other countries and compare this info to longer school days here. Discuss the impact of longer school days on teenagers getting in trouble after school, and the effect on teenagers have driving accidents between 3 pm and 5 pm.
Or: try to research the ecological changes in coastal Louisiana since Hurricane Katrina and the BP oil spill: changes in the marshland, for example, and number of bird species in the area, etc.
