When I try to open I.E it is blank. No toolbars, web page or anything. It completely locks up (freezes) the computer. I use Task Manager to stop the program. I have Windows 2000 Professional Service Pack 4. I used the troubleshoot found at Microsoft-(uninstalling the Service Pack, then uninstalling I.E. 6 and reinstall of IE. This problem started with a recent security update which I have also uninstalled. I have tried other troubleshoots also with no results. All help is appreciated!!! ( I am coming to you now via Firefox which works for almost all needs.)
I have a very good virus program showing no problems. Reset to default in Tools does not work. I did recently find Spyware that was installed with the Internet Explorer 6 update and removed both the spyware and update

most malware or viruses that attack IE come through add-ons, so u might want to disable any unfamiliar add-ons or all add-ons and see wha t happens.

Try Tools, Internet Options, Advanced, then "Reset" button. Should reset everything back to default... might work for you!
