what is glass made of? and how is it made?

Believe it or not, its made from sand!!! To make the glass they super heat the sand

Quartz sand (silica) is one of the most common minerals found in sand.
Mix the sand with lime and soda (lime and soda are chemical compounds), and heat the mixture until it melts. The super-hot liquid looks something like thick, syrupy toffee, which is poured or shaped. As it cools, the liquid hardens into glass.

A typical glass is a mixture of silicon dioxide and sodium oxide.
But the term glass cover also a large category of amorphous materials.
