What is that white rim on the bottom of my AVENT bottles?

A week or two ago after cleaning & sterilizing my bottles, I noticed that most if not all of my baby's AVENT bottles have a white rim that goes horizontally around the bottom of the bottle - just above the 1 oz. marking. The rim looks almost like an old milk rim or something. A couple of the bottles also have another white rim above the 7 oz. marking.

Does anyone have the same problem, or know what it is? What's causing it, and how do I get rid of it?

I've tried everything from scrubbing it with extra washing detergent, to scrubbing it off with a sponge - but nothing seems to be helping it very much.
I'm actually using a mix of Karicare HA-AR & Nestle Nan Gold Stage 1 at the moment.

I actually have 14 bottles, so I don't think buying new bottles would be a real option at the moment.. :-)

As long as the stuff stuck isnt bad for the baby, I'm not too concerned. It just doesnt look very nice, thats all.

Ive tried the warm soapy water overnight already, and it hasnt helped jack. Im rather reluctant to try the bleach, just in case i dont rinse them probably or some stays in the bottom of the bottle...

Boil them in water on the stove for 5 mins then clean them.
Or leave in Milton overnight

it depends on what formula you are using. i was using s26 to start off with and it stuck to my bottles no matter how much i cleaned them and now i am using heinz and that comes right off!!

if it is breat milk then maybe its just more prone to sticking?

I agree with the first post. S26 gold was shocking for leaving marks!!

Soak them in hot soapy water over night and the wash them out in the morning. Or you could buy some new bottles?? Soaking in bleach over night works too, but you have to wash and rinse a few times & really well!! :)
