What is the best microphone or headset for recording a podcast?

The platform probably doesn't matter, but just in case, this will be on a Mac. Some possibility of having remote/phone participation on the recording. Prefer answers citing personal experience.
 
It is really going to depend on your budget. If you are just starting out I would stick to a headset/microphone combo.

Chris Future is right about the Plantronics brand of headsets. These are great for recording your show. I've been using the Plantronics DSP-500 to record the Blog Universe Podcast and they are easy to use and sound decent.
