What is the best newsgroup?

I was a member of usenext but the search engine was not fun and many of there comments where in German.

I like the speed and the content and do not mind paying for it. I also liked how they had there own soft ware so I did not need to go to any third parties.

So what I am looking for is
speed
ease of use
