what is the best way to clean a carburetor on my snowmobile?

the carburetor on my snowmobile is all gummed up and i was wondering what the best way of cleaning it was.

after taking the carbs out of the sled submerge them in boiling water and shake them around. a can of carb cleaner can also be quite helpful.
