Guppies are one of the most resistant fish I know. They survive they worst, so don't worry.

Just avoid putting them in the same tank with carnivorous species. Evidently, that would hurt them.
One more thing, to make the transition smoother, put some water (not much) from your tank into the container you have the guppies. After one day, you can put the guppies in the main fish tank (just the fish, not the water they stayed in).

Float the bag, and slowly pour some of your tank water in over 30 minutes, not constantly lol, put a half a cup or so of tank water in the bag every 5-10 minutes. Some stores offer a 2 week guaranty, but i don't know about in australia.

Okay get the guppies in a clear bag with water. Place them in the tank in the bag and the bag will float keep air in the bag aswell, leave them there for an hour to get used to the surroundings and then after the hour is up open the bag gently and don't force them in they'll go when they think it's safe, try and not make a lot of water ripples in the top because this might spook them.hope this helps
