i have been waning to get rid of cable & just watch content from sites like Hulu, Fancast, Youtube, etc... & wanted to know what's the easiest way to do this. i've looked at the different options (AppleTV, Vudu, Roku, & Xbox 360 - but i don't like the idea of having a pc running all of the time using media center.) does anyone own any of these options & are they worth the money?
Also i mainly use macs so i was leaning towards the AppleTV but can you use it to watch other things than itunes stuff (now that hulu doesn't work with Boxee?)

BTW i do have an old gateway with Xubuntu running on it, could i use this machine as a dedicated media center?

thanks

i have a 360 and was using it to stream my movies to my tv. But, it doesn't really make a big difference... if anything it loses quaility when you do the streaming.

What i've done is I've hooked my laptop up to my tv and just use my lcd as my primary display. So, i can watch youtube on full screen and it actually looks pretty decent.

I'm having problems setting up my xbox now for streaming... not sure what the issue is. Well,, I hope this helped.
