I am looking at starting a free fitness group in my local area. Basically I just want to meet a bunch of people, train together, have a laugh and get fit.
I am not qualified in any areas of fitness (nor am I actually fit myself), nor do I have any qualifications in the medical field.
I see that it is sensible to have some kind of warning before anybody participates. For example I would let them know that I am indeed not qualified, and to seek medical before exercising if they are pregnant, have any injuries, or any other medical conditions.
I am concerned about the legal aspect of creating a fitness group if a participant gets injured etc.
Do I have any obligations or can I get sued if somebody gets injured?
Do I need to follow any health and safety proceedures?
Many thanks,
Sam
