What is the legality of having pictures of cars and license plates on my website?

I have an online car show (www.MyCarVote.com) and in order to promote the site, I go to shows and take pictures of cars. Most of them have license plates showing in the picture. Does anyone know the law/rules if this is okay or if I need to cut out the plates in the pics.

I don't think you're breaking any laws, because you're not making any $$$$ off the pictures. But, just to be safe, wouldn't hurt to fuzz the plates...
