Im looking at a 1989 jeep Yj islander 6 cylinder that currently has 35 inch mud tires on it. I was wondering around what mpg it would be getting. Also how reliable are these jeeps and what should I look out for?
Mileage will be hard to say without knowing the gear ratio however it will probably be around 12mpg. I would not buy that cheap if it has a dana35 rear axle as it is not strong enough to handle 35" tires safely. Make sure it has appropriate gears 4.56-4.88 or so.
