My experience: taking a nap in the evening I found myself awake but couldn't move or open my eyes. my hands and arms were numb and I tried so hard to move them. I heard people fighting outside my window. then I finally manage to move my fingers and I jumped out of bed and looked out my window and there was no one. it kinda shook me up.

Sleep paralysis occurs during deep REM sleep. It is a reaction to keep your body from acting out its dreams because you would end up hurting itself because when you are asleep, your brain thinks dreams are actually reality.
Sleep paralysis is also associated with demonic possession or spirits. It is often experienced when someone is in sleep paralysis they feel an evil presence in the room with them and will hear voices or see figures moving around them. sometimes, they feel like a weight is crushing their chest and when they open their eyes, they will see a demon or old ugly hag staring back at them.
This is the cause of the chemical that basically causes a type of "high" and causes the paralysis of the muscles.
I love it when this happens to me
it is exciting and I also love when I have lucid nightmares and even normal nightmares. They are badass.
