what is the point in collecting dvd's?

myself have a bunch of dvd's... but.. lately i have this thought that..."is it really worth it?"...
I mean... our life is too short for re-watching movies, isnt it better to watch new things and not re-watch the old once no matter how good they were?
I know that you can say that its the same with book "you can go to the library instead"....

But... i will be glad to read your opinion about this [if you are collecting].

There are a few film's I enjoy seeing a few more times. And the DVD's come in handy if you have friend's over. Also, some times DVD's go out of print. And the library copy gets lost or damaged.

On a cold stormy night, I just want to reach on my shelf and get a DVD that I like.
 
lol, i have bought so many dvd`s in my life time, i could probably count them all on 1 hand ^^
