What is the point in collecting dvd's?

I myself have a bunch of dvd's... but.. lately i have this thought that..."is it really worth it?"...
I mean... our life is too short for re-watching movies, isnt it better to watch new things and not re-watch the old once no matter how good they were?
I know that you can say that its the same with book "you can go to the library instead"....

But... i will be glad to read your opinion about this [if you are collecting].

Thanks in advance.

We have a drawer of DVDs that mostly people have given us. Others are some of my favorites that we have bought. My sister collects the Harry Potter DVDs... cuz she's weird and likes to watch them all the time.

But I like having my favorites around, because sometimes you just crave a certain movie sometimes. It's like having different kinds of chocolate. Sure, I want to try all the ones that look good, but there's nothing like the ones that really taste really good to me. But, if I have it too much, it gets old, so i know what you mean. I love seeing new movies. If I could, I'd go to the theaters every day!

But to answer your question, I think there's enough time to see awesome new movies and see old faves too. Yes, it is worth it.

What would make you think that? your thinking is very unorthodox. Everyone has enough time in their life to rewatch a good movie, or reread a good book. Don't speed by everything in your life. Sure new things are great, but don't leave favorites and good things behind you.
