What is this car from the 70s (with pictures)?

This is my father's car from back in the 70s and we aren't sure what it is. We know it is probably Ameriacn (obviously).

Yup that's a 4 door Ford Maverick, one step above the Pinto, which ain't saying much, but believe it or not they weren't bad cars for econo boxes, some of the 2 door performance models such as the Maverick Grabber are actually quite rare and valuable. the 4 door not so much, it was also made under the Mercury Comet name, in which case the GT is the valuable one
 
Ford Maverick. It was not very popular, it was supposed to be a cool yet low budget car. They were pretty lackluster. They also came in a 2 door.
