what is this clicking coming from my car?

I have a 95 Mustang GT.. whenever I accelerate you can hear a clicking noise that follows the putter of the engine.. you can only hear it from the interior though, just left of the steering wheel it sounds like. some people have told me I need a tune up and I have also hear it might just be the plug wires.. any help !?!

take it to a really experienced mechanic and let him listen to it.
He will probably know at once. Hard to identify a noise on a message site. It could be a valve noise if you have mechanical lifters or a valve noise if the timing is off.
