My girlfriend and I were talking about the upcoming films Super 8 and Cowboys Vs. Aliens. She said that she saw a film, on DVD, within the last Five Years, that started out with a shot/scene of an alien-type thing in a field and then turned in to a Western... The start had no direct link with the rest of the film... As far as she can remember... How did I miss this film?! It sounds like exactly the type of rubbish I usually watch!?! Any ideas? It may have been in Black&White (or, at least, the opening might have been in B&W.)
Pretty sure it's not Westworld (she said it was a "new" movie when she saw it). Thank you anyway.
I had a look on imdb.com (particularly at the "related movies" section for C.Vs.A.) I'll check out Oblivion. Thank you, everyone.
Ha, ha ha! I had no idea there were so many films called Oblivion!?! I think I know the one you mean, though, dfpb. Looks VERY similar to C.Vs.A.!
Don't think it's Cloverfield - she's pretty sure about the Western part! Sorry, Nicolle.
Had a look on the Sci-Fi Western Wiki page... If I find out it's Tremors 4 I might have to dump her!?! (Just kidding, Baby!)

Do not know but "Bloodrayne Two" is all wrong Jesse James was the real villain but he was not a vampire.

It sounds like the movie that's been aired several times lately (not a main channel). It's about aliens in machines that come to attack a town in the mid west and the towns bad guy defeats them. I can't help with the title sorry but keep an eye out on the movies being shown on channels like sci-fy.

Sounds like Cloverfeild but that's just a guess. It wasn't really an alien movie but most probably think it is unless you look closely at it. The begining did not have much to do with it except for the fact this thing fell in the water which you find out at the end.

Edit * O you said Western, sorry on my ipod butttttt check this out? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Science_fiction_Western
