What karate style should I do? Or should I do kung-fu?

I need to decide to either do karate Shotokan or karate Kyokushin Kaikan, but I don't really know the difference and I'm having difficulty choosing. (I've heard that Kyokushin is a stronger style and works on resistance, while Shotokan is more for show, but I don't know if this is true).
If I decide to discard the two top ones my third option is Hung Gar (kung-fu).

I'm looking for an art that has balance, agility, resistance, discipline, speed and that can keep me healthy.

If I could have basic characteristics of each style, and a personal opinion would be greatly appreciated.

Why wouldn't you go and look at the classes. If you bought a pair of shoes you would look at them first. Choosing a martial arts style is more important than the shoes so go watch classes, watc h several classes to make sure you pick the right one.
Don't pick by the style. Pick the teacher you like best and teaches what you want to learn. You think Kyokushin is a stronger style? What if the teacher is not as good of a teacher and the Shotokan Karate teacher is really good and kicks butts? You'd never know unless you watched the teachers teaching it.
It wouldn't hurt to drop by the Hung Gar school either and check it out. Just for the heck of it. The more information and research you do the better the choice you will make.
