I'm looking to purchase the Alienware m17x notebook, however, some of the components (such as the RAM) are way overpriced. They want well over $300 to upgrade 1GB of RAM to 3GB, which is ridiculous -- it's easy to see where they're trying to pocket some extra profit margin.
What kind of RAM does the Alienware m17x use?
I was thinking of buying it with 'barebones' RAM (the 1GB stick) and purchase 2x2056MB sticks elsewhere and upgrade the system myself.
