What kind of traps can I use for coyote hunting?

I'm looking for some homemade ones that wont hurt my dogs. would this possibly work for coyote hunting? and if it will is there any changes that should be made? also would this hurt my dogs if they get caught in it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hErbKd1LKto

Any traps that will hurt a coyote will also hurt a dog.

In many states traps that cause pain are illegal (animals can suffers days or pain in a trap)

You need to use traps that are humane.
