north arkansas pretty much same here. I've got a prety nice little benchmade

and to all the closed minded teenagers in here who are all like "omg hes a pussy, hes carring a knife"

Pretty much like some else said,

You can use a knife for something other than stabbing people?
Wow who would have thought?

The main reason most people carry knifes (or at least around here) if for day to day stuff. And if some huge dude is trying to knock me out and take my car or other property, yes i will probably use the knife to fight him off. I won't act tough or do anything to egg (sp?) anyone on. But hey truth is in the real world there are bad and dangerous people out there.

Everyone isn't just nice, helpful, and selfless like some of you have been taught (and believe) by the all the liberals in the media, goverment, and colleges (professors). (and relating to that sentence FLAME ON:devil: ) Go out and experience the real world some time instead of your computer screen

On a side note along the lines of what $$Andrew1944$$ said:

Up until a generation or two ago, everyone used to carry a knife, usually a pen knife of some sort. The carrying of a knife used to be a sign of a responsible and capable person. Now, instead we carry a cell phone, which is more or less a sign of, "I don't need to do it myself, because I can call someone else to do it."

Really, knives have always been a good thing to carry, as they're one of the most useful tools one can fit in their pocket. They can make your day go a lot easier, (especially for anyone who has ever bought anything that comes in that damn plastic packaging  ). It's only recently that knives have become scapegoated as "evil dangerous weapons." In fact, years ago you used to be able to get tiny pen knives out of gumball machines at your local pharmacy. Imagine the out-roar that would cause today?

On one hand, it's nice to have access to good technology that allows us to not really need a knife as much as we used to. However, technology tends to fail at the worst time, and that's when I'm glad I carry a knife and other simple tools (like a lighter and flashlight). Together they've saved my ass enough times that I'll never give them up. The Boy Scouts said it perfect when they came up with the saying, "Be Prepared." Better to prepare for the worst, and not need it; then to be caught completely off guard in a bad situation.

Yea, the Benchmades are a Rukus, Mini-Rukus, 707, 705-401, 530S, Benchmite, and Benchmite II.

Normally the 707 or Leatherman Charge Ti is what's in my pocket, but I use the Rukus camping and the 705-401 or Benchmites when I'm dressed up.

The two Spydercos are a Native and Atlantic Salt. The Native I use when I'm working construction and the Salt when I'm boating/fishing/swimming/ect since it doesn't rust.

They each have their purpose.:)

Yea, for something that's $600+ you would think it would be written somewhat nicer.

I would have spent the money on a William Henry instead. Much nicer IMO, and much more attention to detail. Here's one of mine (fourth one down)
